Winter Engagement Session Ontario

Winter Engagement Session Ontario

Susie and Geoff tie the knot today and I’m excited to spend the day with this fun loving couple!

Tell us the story of how the two of you met.
Back in 2014, Susie and Geoff were both pretty happy, but they both wanted someone special to share their happinesses with. Geoff thought that he ought to get to know a girl he had recently met online.
Geoff asked her for a casual date – going out for a drink at Wink’s downtown London. Susie was excited. She walked there from her nearby apartment. Susie checked her reflection in each building window she passed by to make sure she still looked awesome. She did.
When she arrived, Geoff was standing outside waiting. What a great looking guy!
Their one drink took about 4 hours. They talked and talked. Needless to say, they hit it off. Both were soccer fans who enjoyed a good math puzzle and a good book. Geoff was also probably very impressed by Susie’s awesome puns. After many fun times dating, they decided they couldn’t handle the 5 minute drive from one another’s apartments – so they moved in together!
It was a wonderful idea, since they now had more time for puzzles, board games, and cooking together. A little while later, they decided that they wanted to continue this adventure – so one warm summer evening in Victoria Park, Geoff got down on one knee and popped the question. Susie said yes!
And here we are now, about to start a whole new chapter in this love story.

Tell me the proposal story (the long version is fine)
Longer version…

We went out for dinner downtown London last August at Waldo’s. After dinner we decided to go for a walk around Victoria park. This wasn’t an out of the ordinary thing for when we went downtown, so Susie had no suspicions about what would happen. Eventually, Geoff suggested we sit down on the bench for a bit. We were talking about the trip out east to Nova Scotia that we would be taking that week to meet some of Geoff’s aunts, uncles, and cousins. Geoff asked me, “should I introduce you as my girlfriend or… my fiance?” (so sweet). I didn’t quite catch on until Geoff got down on his knee with a ring. I said yes!

And then a couple who were out for a walk got so excited for us and they took our picture – it was great to have a photo of right when we got engaged.

What is your favourite memory together (other than those mentioned above)?
this is a hard one! Our top two would be our trip to Chicago last year and moving into our new house.

What do you love most about each other?
What Susie loves about Geoff – so much! I love that he is sweet and funny and likes puzzles. He cares about me and wants me to be happy and he cares about our families too.
What Geoff loves about Susie – that she is very unselfish and always puts her family and friends needs before hers.

How do you hope your friends and family see your wedding?
Relaxed, fun, and full of love

Why did you choose us?
We looked through the different wedding photos and your style stood out as something we could see ourselves in. When we met you, you also seemed very knowledge and easy to work with (and you are!).

Bellamere Winery Wedding Photography

Bellamere Winery Wedding Photography

It seems fitting that next up on the blog are Amanda and Shaun who were married right around a year ago and I just photographed their gorgeous newborn boy the other day and I’m so glad that I get to hang out with this awesome couple more now! The pic of one of their nieces throwing a pair of underwear at the other is still one of my fave moments captured! Their rustic theme was perfect with their gorgeous venue Bellamere Winery which is one of the venues I always love photographing at, even in the rain like it was this day! Luckily it cleared up long enough after the ceremony for us to take some shots with gorgeous light.

Puppy Family Photos London Ontario

Puppy Family Photos London Ontario

If you saw our announcement or have been on my facebook or instagram at all this past week you would have seen that our bundle of joy arrived last weekend. While he is still nice and little we had Clara photograph puppy family photos London Ontario. I have wanted a dog for so long. Seriously if we have ever been in a car together, you would have experienced how I am literally like a dog with a squirrel and will be mid conversation and be like ‘cute dog’ point! I was so happy to photograph a newborn puppy/ family session a few months ago and now so happy for the photos to be of us and Bickie! I’m very lucky to have a husband who puts up with every photo session we do! Bickie now has his own Instagram if you’re interested, it is @bickiethecockapoo.

Old Court House Engagement Photography

Old Court House Engagement Photography

Back in February when we would expect to have snow on the ground, Clara photographed Sarah and Yusri and their pup at the lovely year round Old Court House and Ivey Park.

  • Yusri is a soccer referee. My sister Jessica (and maid of honour) is also a soccer referee. Jessica set us up on a blind date. We met at Demetre’s, a dessert cafe, in Thornhill, where I am from. (Yusri is born and raised in Toronto)
  • WOW lol. and to this day it is still WOW. He was perfect looking to me and still is. Although the day we met he had a huge twirly mustache He was competing in a mustache growing competition with his friends and had been growing his mustache for months.
  • Yusri and I were going to Jamaica with my family. Yusri and I have been together for 7 years so I kind of expected that on this trip he would propose. However, he decided to surprise me and propose before leaving. I was in the basement doing laundry, and had thrown my pants into the laundry, I walked up stairs and turned the corner to go into the kitchen and Yusri had music playing and flowers in his hand. His face looked hilarious as he noticed I wasn’t wearing any pants. He immediately asked if he should stop and give me a second to go get pants on but I had waited 7 years so I wasn’t going to wait any longer lol
  • Yusri and I are sports fans. A couple of times now we have done sport weekends. I always love doing those. We get away and get to go watch the teams we love. We went to Montreal once and saw a soccer game in the morning TFC vs. Impact and a Maple Leaf vs. Montreal hockey game in the evening.
  • Yusri will do anything to help a friend. He is also incredibly supportive. We were living in Toronto and I got a job opportunity in London. He encouraged me to take the job and followed me to London. He got a new job/home/city just to support me. He really pushes me to be the best I can be.
  • I just really want everyone to have fun. I really want it to be a good time filled with smiles and laughter.
  • A friend recommended you to us

Farm Wedding Photography Ontario

Farm Wedding Photography Ontario

Sammi & Greg’s big day was certainly a very memorable one with the rain pouring on everyone half way through the ceremony. They were super chill about it though with even being ok with doing a splashing in a puddle wearing the wedding dress shot for me when I suggested it! We certainly were lucky that they had decided to do a (super sweet) first look and all of the photos before the ceremony. The barn on her parents property made a lovely reception area and there were so many amazing moments happening during the party including a very near miss with the knife after the cake cutting! I always love capturing Farm Wedding Photography Ontario and we have a special offer on until thanksgiving 2017 that you save $250 off any package so that means you can lock in 2017 prices for 2018 & 2019! This blog is actually a copy of their wedding album!

London Ontario Elopement Photography

London Ontario Elopement Photography

Kendall and Jake were married almost a year ago in an intimate ceremony at City Hall in London Ontario. We had some awesome skies when we headed up to the roof afterwards and loved capturing some gorgeous photos of the two of them around the Old Court House/ Ivey Park area. They celebrated at a restaurant with a bunch of their closest friends and family and I just loved how authentic they kept everything and loved that they were going to be able to buy a house sooner compared to if they had a bigger affair. Do what is right for you for your big day!

Marisa and Marc were married almost a year ago at one of my favourite venues, Arrowwood Farm in Melbourne, Ontario. Marisa has photographed weddings herself and it is always a huge compliment when a photographer wants me to capture their big day. I loved all of the details including the DIY paper flower wall which looked amazing and the traditional native formal wear the groom’s side wore. The bride’s son walked her up the aisle which was adorable and I haven’t often had the chance to photograph the ceremony with the groom unveiling the bride so that was a fun moment. We had some gorgeous sunlight for their photos and (for the second week running in my blogs) another motorboat! The weather was perfect for the Farm Wedding Photography London Ontario at Arrowwood farm, and the food delicious!

St Pauls Cathedral London Ontario Wedding

St Pauls Cathedral London Ontario Wedding

Looking back through Alex and Tyler’s wedding photos brought back so many memories for me- I had met Alex at a bridal show where she was one of the exhibitors, she contacted me when I was out in Halifax just before my wedding when she had some trouble with the photographer that she had booked and I am so glad that I was able to capture their day for them, especially with the groom and his whole side being from South Carolina so try and imagine this blog being read to you in their amazing southern drawl..
There are some seriously sweet photos below showing when Tyler’s mom gave him a special gift, the emotional moment when Alex saw her beloved dog’s collar on her bouquet- a surprise from her family. I loved all the small details like the shot gun shells on the boutineers and that Alex’s veil was made from parts of her Mom’s. Many emotional moments including first look with dad, Tyler tearing up as she walked up the aisle, brother singing (amazingly) at the ceremony and a speech by a groomsman that didn’t leave a dry eye in the whole venue, mine included- which is rare, I only cried once at my own wedding! As many emotional moments as there were, there were fun moments including not one but two motorboats, recreating her parents photograph from their wedding at St Pauls Cathedral London Ontario Wedding, saying hello to the cows at Purple Hill Country Hall (especially meaningful because I believe they met working on a ranch), they tore up the dancefloor for their first dance fun bouquet and garter too- the garter was twine just adding to the whole country feel and even had a clear enough night to get some star photos..

Announcement Photography London Ontario

Announcement Photography London Ontario

If you know me, you know how much I love dogs. Pretty much every conversation I’ve had with people about why I don’t get a dog for the last 5 years has been because we live in a 1 bedroom apartment and it wouldn’t be fair to it, but now we have moved and have a backyard so I am so happy to announce that we have a the pitter patter of little feet on the way, puppy feet that is! Coming this September is baby boy Cockapoo.

I have always supported rescues and ‘adopt don’t shop’ but when you have waited until it is the right time and have kept your eyes on the rescues and know that young, hypoallergenic dogs don’t come up often, I made sure to look into buying from a reputable breeder and doing my research to make sure it will be the perfect pup for us!

Clara photographed this Announcement Photography London Ontario for us and we’re so excited!

West Lorne Engagement Photography

I’m excited to photograph Karlye and Dan’s wedding today! We captured their engagement session back in the spring at the West Lorne fire station where Dan works and then too a fire truck Dan had cleaned especially for the session to a family property. We had some amazing sunset light and great variety with everything from rustic wood heaps, field for a perfect sunset, forest, pond with perfect reflection, a red barn and to top it all off a magnolia tree in full bloom!  Looking forward to seeing them for their big day!
