Purple Hill Country Hall Wedding Photography

Purple Hill Country Hall Wedding Photography

Mary and Kris were married around a year ago at Purple Hill Country Hall in Thorndale, Ontario. We captured all of the beautiful ladies getting ready at the Elm Hurst Inn and then headed to Purple Hill for the outdoor ceremony followed by family photos- which you will see here, this is the couple’s album of all of the most important moments and portraits.

The day went smoothly even when things went wrong thanks to the Unmistakably you team, but there were many great vendors.

Bellamere Winery Fall wedding photography

Bellamere Winery Fall wedding photography

Jen and Jay were married just over a year ago at Bellamere Winery in an open air ceremony with a rustic feel. I loved the colours that they chose and Bellamere has so much variety for different backgrounds that we were able to capture a large variety of photographs of the wedding party and couple in a short amount of time. The DJ kept everyone up dancing and I loved capturing the moment of the bride literally kicking off her shoes. I love being able to incorporate their personalities into the photographs and knowing they loved all things horror/halloween from the engagement session they had to do a thriller lit up pose. I believe the moon that night was a supermoon which was very cool!

Gown: David’s Bridal
Hair and make up: Beauty by Mallory
Getting ready location: Delta armouries
DJ: Double Dutch DJ
Hair piece, flowers and decor: DIY by couple

Farm Wedding Photography Ontario

Farm Wedding Photography Ontario

Sammi & Greg’s big day was certainly a very memorable one with the rain pouring on everyone half way through the ceremony. They were super chill about it though with even being ok with doing a splashing in a puddle wearing the wedding dress shot for me when I suggested it! We certainly were lucky that they had decided to do a (super sweet) first look and all of the photos before the ceremony. The barn on her parents property made a lovely reception area and there were so many amazing moments happening during the party including a very near miss with the knife after the cake cutting! I always love capturing Farm Wedding Photography Ontario and we have a special offer on until thanksgiving 2017 that you save $250 off any package so that means you can lock in 2017 prices for 2018 & 2019! This blog is actually a copy of their wedding album!

St Pauls Cathedral London Ontario Wedding

St Pauls Cathedral London Ontario Wedding

Looking back through Alex and Tyler’s wedding photos brought back so many memories for me- I had met Alex at a bridal show where she was one of the exhibitors, she contacted me when I was out in Halifax just before my wedding when she had some trouble with the photographer that she had booked and I am so glad that I was able to capture their day for them, especially with the groom and his whole side being from South Carolina so try and imagine this blog being read to you in their amazing southern drawl..
There are some seriously sweet photos below showing when Tyler’s mom gave him a special gift, the emotional moment when Alex saw her beloved dog’s collar on her bouquet- a surprise from her family. I loved all the small details like the shot gun shells on the boutineers and that Alex’s veil was made from parts of her Mom’s. Many emotional moments including first look with dad, Tyler tearing up as she walked up the aisle, brother singing (amazingly) at the ceremony and a speech by a groomsman that didn’t leave a dry eye in the whole venue, mine included- which is rare, I only cried once at my own wedding! As many emotional moments as there were, there were fun moments including not one but two motorboats, recreating her parents photograph from their wedding at St Pauls Cathedral London Ontario Wedding, saying hello to the cows at Purple Hill Country Hall (especially meaningful because I believe they met working on a ranch), they tore up the dancefloor for their first dance fun bouquet and garter too- the garter was twine just adding to the whole country feel and even had a clear enough night to get some star photos..

Pioneer Village Wedding Photography

Pioneer Village Wedding Photography

I loved capturing Brittany and Reed’s big day almost a year ago! The day started capturing the girls getting hair and makeup done at Nova Vita, then getting ready at one of the bridesmaids houses. Clara captured the dapper dudes getting ready then we met up at the gorgeous green space (Victoria Park) in Fanshawe Pioneer Village. I love the rustic feel of the barn and All of their personal touches were wonderful and I always love capturing emotional dads at their first look and crying grooms! The ceremony was seriously beautiful and perfect lighting for capturing the wedding party and couple photographs on the grounds at Pioneer Village. The reception in the barn was filled with plenty of sweet speeches, dances and fun sparkler shots and dramatic night time dips!

Canada Day Wedding Photography London Ontario

Canada Day Wedding Photography London Ontario

Jen and Geoff’s wedding was my first captured on Canada Day and it was so much fun to photograph! Jen’s personality is so bright and bubbly that it makes everyone around feel invigorated and happy so you can just imagine how happy all of their guests were on their big day. The day kicked off with Jen and her maid of honour getting ready at her moms house with their lovely dog and hair and makeup by Darling Makeup & Hair.  The detail shots were fun making a canadian flag out of the dresses and hangers by Custom bridal accessories by Jenn AKA the hanger lady and gorgeous flowers by Time 4 Flowers. The ringbearer and flower girl were seriously cute and I loved how bright Cooks United Church in Mt Brydges was for their ceremony. Jen and Geoff transformed their backyard into an amazing reception venue and I loved capturing all of the candid moments throughout the night which finished with fireworks and sparklers!

Windermere Manor Wedding Photographer

Windermere Manor Wedding Photographer

Karlee and Andrew were married a year ago this week at the gorgeous Windermere Manor wedding photographer. They brought their rustic country style to the venue and incorporated it in the decor, the cowboy boots and the groom even wore a camo vest! I loved capturing the moments of Karlees dad seeing her for the first time and the emotional moments of the bridesmaids opening their cards. The ceremony was very meaningful as the minister had married their parents and I loved the high-five hand off from the father of the bride to the groom. Loved capturing Andrews sense of humour with ‘loosing the vows’. Following the ceremony we captured the wedding party and couple photos in romantic, traditional, candid and dramatic styles. Clara and I captured a variety of shots from the balcony and from the main floor at their laid back reception. The shot of the father of the bride dancing with his mom was one of my fave candid moments of the year and of course loved heading outside at the end of the night to capture a night shot.

St. George Parish wedding photography

St. George Parish Wedding Photography

I’ve listened to many webinars and attended classes at the photography conference I went to back in February with the theme of finding your ideal client. Cibeli and Michael check of all of my ‘ideal client’ boxes, which certainly is rare as most of the time I know if a couple of these points are checked, I know I will really enjoy photographing the wedding.

  • They value their photography. At one point when we were emailing back and forth Cibeli and Michael mentioned that they had to cut their budget so were going to get a family member to do the photography, but instead we worked out that if they got a smaller package and paid in installments it would work for them.
  • They love to travel- we totally connected straight away because Cibeli is from Brazil and Michael is from here in London Ontario but they are living in Sydney Australia- which I loved their boomerang favors for their guests.
  • They are passionate- about each other, their family, and their careers. Michael is a chiropractor and I loved that they did a photo of him adjusting Cibeli, and she is a Reiki Master & Crystal Awakening Therapist and I loved that she brought a rose quartz stone to harness the engergy of the day.
  • They danced and rocked out to their favourite music
  • They brought their personalities into the wedding- through the time of year, celebrating with their family and friends on thanksgiving.  Being out in nature with the fall colours and bringing that theme into their decor. Love of good food with the wonderful meal from Greenhills Golf Club and cake by Bright Eyes Bakery, love of animals with the horse and carriage and her amazing dress with detachable train, tiara and shawl which certainly made her a fall princess!

Amazing vendors-

Girls getting ready location: Idlewyld Inn
Ceremony: St George Parish
Reception: Greenhills Golf Club
Cake: Bright Eyes Bakery
Bouquets and Boutonnieres: Lyric Flowers
DJ: Cooper DJ service
Limo: Dorchester Norfolk
Centrepieces: Petals of Love

London Ontario Wedding Photography

This was a big year for weddings- I photographed 31 in Ontario and was Bride, Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid outside of Ontario! I have decided to split up the wedding photography blogs this year as otherwise they would be far too long and I find it hard to cut down! The posts will be this one which is couples (and a couple of just the bride or groom), this wednesday will be Wedding Parties and next wednesday will be candid moments. There are so many more shots from each of these weddings that I could have chosen that I really could make a much larger series of these blogs, including best dress shot, best ring shot etc, but the list would go on forever but I promise that in the coming months all of the weddings will be featured right here on my blog so be sure to check back!

Below you will see some of my favourite images from the year, you’ll see some from all of the seasons. Some on freezing winter days, I did 4 weddings this year that with the humidity were 40 degrees or over and everything in between. Backyard Wedding Photography Ontario

Backyard Wedding Photography Ontario

Kayla and Bryan had a very unique and easy going wedding in the groom’s parents’ backyard. When I was just going back through all of the photos I can just see how down to earth and real everything was. The day started with capturing them setting up in the morning and capturing the bride (who is a hair stylist) doing not only her own hair and makeup up helping others with theirs. I loved that by having it at home they were able to include their dogs in the photos and also that they only did the traditions that meant something to them. With Bryan’s father officiating the ceremony, after pretending to run away Both Bryan and Kayla made it down the aisle. They did a lot of DIY for the decor and some of the items were hired from Lilylane Decor and Design. After lighting a fire together which the guests enjoyed for the rest of the night, we managed to capture some wonderful sunset shots. Some speeches kicked off the reception where we had some fun with sparklers then sweet first dances. Not pictured here is how when I was leaving the wedding to drive home, I somehow managed to pull into a tree on their property and rip my bumper off. I was absolutely fine and the amount of people who can over to help was amazing.
