Museum London Wedding Photography

Museum London Wedding Photography

Museum London is a location I would love to photograph more weddings but I was lucky enough to capture Karrie and Brian’s wedding there in June 2015. I photographed the girls at the beautiful Delta armouries while Clara had fun photographing the guys. We photographed their first look and other formal shots of the wedding party at the Delta when the original plan was rained out but the group were super fun and loved Brian’s idea for photographs on the city bus. After the candlelit ceremony we captured the family shots inside Museum London and the couple had a pet care provider bring their dogs to the Museum to have a few shots taken outside. Unfortunately it was right when it was absolutely pouring and thunderstorming so we weren’t able to take any photos in any spots except underneath the awning but I really think it means so much when you include your fur babies in the wedding day! After some amazing speeches and a tear-filled first dance (I <3 grooms who cry!) we set up the photobooth for some fun and captured many candids of their friends and family enjoying themselves and the amazing hors d’oeuvres served.

Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre Wedding Photography

Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre Wedding Photography

Sarah and Alex were married a year ago at Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre in London Ontario and I loved capturing their big day. The girls were all very relaxed getting ready, as were the guys who got to hang out and play pool, I always think the guys getting ready shots are made much more fun when they are doing an activity. When I asked the happy couple what they were most looking forward to it was their first look, it was an emotional moment and really allowed them to relax more through the rest of the evening with their guests. We captured a bunch of portraits of them outside with their wedding party, family and some special ones just of the two of them. We then headed in from the chilly March wind and they did what was a new thing at that point ‘faceswap’ which was my first bride and groom faceswap! After a few more indoor photos the ceremony was held inside and even though they had done the first look, it was still a very emotional moment for all involved. When future bride and grooms are tossing up whether to do a first look or not I always tell them how all of the emotion is still there for that walk up the aisle, its just that you can then hang out with your guests straight after the ceremony (or after the family photos). Rob from Music Central was there brilliant MC and I loved seeing their guests enjoying the same day slideshow I put together of their first look and earlier moments from the day. After the lovely speeches and fun dancing I headed outside with the couple for some dramatically lit nighttime shots- check out that clear sky!

Riverbend Golf Club Wedding Photography

Riverbend Golf Club Wedding Photography

Sabrina and Siva did an amazing job with personalizing their wedding, from using their favourite colours in unique ways, special agent ring bearer, table names of places that mean something special to them to the unique vows. It was a pleasure to document their big day with their super fun wedding party. The combining of cultures played a big part in their day and I loved the good luck elephant candle holder favors and the beautiful henna Sabrina had done for the big day, as well as that they had a Henna artist there for their guests to join in. The first dance was done in traditional clothing and I loved slipping outside for some fun night shots. When I was going back through these photos to pick which ones to blog, just looking at the dancing photos I could remember how much Siva rocked out to Michael Jackson and I could just hear Home for a rest when looking at some of the later dancing photos.

Carmen’s Banquet Centre Wedding Photography Hamilton ON

Carmen’s Banquet Centre Wedding Photography Hamilton ON

Laura and George’s wedding at Carmen’s Banquet Centre in Hamilton was my first time visiting this great venue. The day started with my second photographer visiting the couples home to capture George’s getting ready shots while I went to photograph Laura and the girls getting ready in a room at Carmen’s. Their outdoor ceremony on the roof at Carmen’s was something very different for me to photograph and that was followed by family photographs inside at the venue then followed by going to a local waterfall and capturing some lovely shots of them with their wedding party, which mainly consisted of their beautiful children. After a fun reception we photographed a bunch of outdoor backlit and sparkler photos which I knew Laura had really been looking to so I was glad that the weather held out for us.

Pokemon Go: The Wedding

Pokemon Go: The Wedding

Like many others in the world I have been swept up in the Pokemon Go craze. When I found out that the bride I was shooting the wedding for this weekend was also hooked, I thought it would be something different and very telling of summer 2016 to capture their wedding (in part of course) through taking screenshots (and yes, I have now been shown that there is a camera button instead of doing screenshots) of me playing Pokemon Go, with important moments of the wedding in the background. At one point my phone wouldn’t load so I had to get my second shooter, and a guest from our table to send me over a couple of snaps. Like I said, literally everyone is playing this game so I hope these photographs of Cally and Steve’s wedding at the Four Points Sheraton in London, Ontario make you smile.

Elm Hurst Inn Wedding Photography

Elm Hurst Inn Wedding Photography

This lovely spring wedding last year was captured at the Elm Hurst Inn. Heather and Mark had been together for quite a few years so they wanted their wedding to be a celebration but also to keep it as candid and comfortable as possible. Heather made many of the decorations, favours and even the gorgeous Thank You banner. They opted for a first look which is a great idea for if you are wanting to spend more time with your guests during the cocktail hour and also to capture the real emotion close together for the first moment of seeing each other. Heather’s neices were their wedding party which allowed them to keep it small and intimate and I just loved capturing her emotional father.

Best of 2015: Wedding Photographer London Ontario

Wrap up of Erin Woodgate Photography’s best Wedding Photography from 2015!

2015 brought many lovely wedding clients whom some I now call friends! In my opinion (wedding photographer london ontario) many different locations in different seasons really make every wedding a new adventure to photograph! There are so many more shots from each of these weddings that I could have chosen that I really could make a much larger series of these blogs, best bridal portraits, best dress shot, best ring shot, favourite candid groomsmen moment, the list would go on forever but I promise that in the coming months all of the weddings will be featured right here on my blog so be sure to check back! I might even post a favourite ‘candid moment’ blog next week. To kick off the new year I thought I would put together a series of blogs showing some of my favourite photos I captured in 2015. Ukranian Country Club Wedding

These getting ready photos with the girls were a lot of fun and I just loved Jessica’s gorgeous shoes! I was so glad to be able to photograph one of the last weddings at the Chapel of Hope. I was even able to do a ‘First kiss looking towards the crowd’ shot which is out of the ordinary for church weddings. It was such a bitterly freezing day but everyone was in such good spirits that we made the most of it besides, winter weddings with snow on the ground are the best! The reception at the Ukrainian country club was a blast surrounded by a very large group of guests with some funny speeches and lots of partying!

Mormon Wedding in Brantford

This was my first time photographing a Mormon wedding and although I wasn’t able to photograph the ceremony in the gorgeous Brantford, Ontario temple, we made very good use of the grounds starting with a first look with the bride wearing her white dress with their parents and then with the groom. After the photos we headed back to London. Everyone has something that goes wrong on or leading up to the weddng day. Felicia and Aaron’s wedding day story to tell their grandkids will include the car running out of gas on the side of the 401 and their crazy Aussie photographer making light of the situation by getting them to do a hitchiking shot. I feel like being able to see how calm and loving they were during this time, as well as how supporting the wedding party were, just goes to show how strong their bond is! The guests waiting at their reception back in London were all very patient and a very fun reception followed at The Church of Latter-Day Saints.

Mocha Shrine Centre Wedding Photography

This lovely winter wedding was my first time photographing at the Mocha Shrine Centre in downtown London Ontario. It was nice and close to Victoria Park for doing the shots of the lovely couple. The snow storm the night before meant there was lovely fresh snow for the photos but it also meant some of their guests were a little late getting to the ceremony, I loved hearing the great feedback from their guests about the same-day slideshow I did of some of the shots from earlier in the day, allowing some of those who were late to see the ceremony. I love the little details that they did to make it their own- converse for shoes, waltzing in to the reception for their first dance and snowflake bling!

Decorations and bouquets: LUXE weddings and events
Cake: Friend of the couple
